As a culture in the developed world, as well as some developing nations, we are aware of living our lives at an increasingly fast pace. I wanted to write a book that addressed this ‘need for speed’ and yet retain the joyful experience that comes from serving food that nourishes and delights those we love.
I found sixteen pieces of equipment that work really well when left to do their thing whilst you are filling in the gaps on the dinner plate.
I called this kind of cooking ‘swift food’ to set it apart from ‘fast food’ that focuses upon time only. I believe that every meal should include some creative options for both the cook and the diner.

I included a special section called ‘Fruit on Fruit’ that allow for 135 variations on the theme and satisfy the ‘need’ for dessert in a most attractive and nourishing manner.
